The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house by using a combined gross family income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence profits isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
